Wendy studied BA Textile Design at Central Saint Martins and has recently graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Printed Textile Design.

“My designs have evolved from my reflection on childhood, and a longing to nurture and cherish my childhood imagination. My compositions aim to capture the nostalgic feeling of being told a story as a child, yet they have no fixed narrative. Instead they work as ingredients, the imagery floats on the page, allowing the viewer to assemble their own story.”

“For me my MA has given me a chance to build on my personal aesthetic. I always had in mind the idea of creating a lifestyle brand that offered something different to the existing market. The Wendy Marchbanks brand is about offering new and stimulating design that can be enjoyed by both children and adults. Through my unusual and surreal illustrations, I aim to bring original and exciting imagery to interior design, and question the pre-conceived ideas about what interior design for the adult market is.”

Wendy is open to any enquirers for commissions or freelance work.
